dog walker in Crown Heights? — Brooklynian

dog walker in Crown Heights?

Hmmm, thought I posted this last nite, but I think the site crashed...

Does anyone know of a dog walker that services Crown Heights? I'm a recent resident, Dean @ Kingston, so I'm a lil ways east. I've searched Craig's List, Urbanhound, and here (the two #s posted never called me back). So far, bupkus. What gives?

I'm feeling like a terribly doggy mommy. I'm subletting a place with a yard, which I was really hoping would save me on dog-walking fees, but I'm realizing that what really spoiled us at our last garden apt. was the all-important doggy DOOR. She relishes in having the option of being in or out, and as such, is protesting being cooped up one way or the other. With the cold, dark winter already looming, I need a new game plan--quick.

Thanks in advance.

  • You might try Mobile Mutts (http://www.mobilemutts.com/).

I know they walk dogs on Eastern Pkwy by Franklin, so they might be able to include your dog in their routes.

Bumping this post, since my dog-walker search is still coming up blank.

Thanks to PP, but Mobile Mutts is way out of my price range. I didn't deal with them when I lived in Carroll Gardens, so I certainly can't afford them now. Besides, it's a pretty big jump for E. Pkwy/Fkln to Dean/Kingston. I trekked ot myself last nite--phew!

I just find it hard to believe there's not a reliable entrepreneurial individual in the nabe. Does everyone just leave their dogs penned up all day? As my screenname suggests, I'm a single mom: I have a 90-minute commute, and a baby to tend to... My pup's a trooper, but I feel so bad for her

I hear that. I can't afford them either. I worked for them briefly before finding my full-time job.

I commute 45-60 minutes each way, so my poor dog has to be home alone from 8am until 5:45pm M-F. I feel really bad about it too, but Mama's gotta bring home the Bacon Bits.

He has a pee-pad thing, but has never used it. He's such a good doggy.

If it makes you feel any better, from what I understand, dogs sleep about 16 hours a day - twice the amount humans need. So, when you go off to work your pup spends a large amount of that time asleep anyway.
