Buffalo Wild Wings opening in Atlantic Terminal? — Brooklynian

Buffalo Wild Wings opening in Atlantic Terminal?

edited November -1 in Park Slope
Hi, I read that the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant will be opening up today in the Atlantic Terminal? Anyone know if this is true?

Still haven't found good wings in the Slope, and it would be nice to have a decent sports bar around (besides 200 Fifth).

  • BW3 went downhill a bit when I was still livin' in MN, so here's to hoping that this one'll be worth going to.
  • Just heard it was pushed out to Dec 3rd
  • I will SO be there if I can get a Leinie's on tap...

Wow, that brings back memories. That's a Wisconsin beer, no? What the connection? Is BWW a Wisconsin business?
  • It's a WI beer, but BW3 is not a WI company (I don't think... :? ). In any event, when I lived in MN, Lienie's was a staple at all of the BW3s.

Edit - They are a MN company, it appears...

If they ship in Grain Belt Premium, this could be a little slice of heaven.

I will cry tears of joy if that is the case.

(ps: I smuggled home three packs of Johnsonville brats, could sneak the sausage in since they pair better with Leinies than wings. Sorry, no way to phrase that un-dirty)[/youtube]
  • Oh, a little Primo would be nice... I wonder if someplace around here sells some of the ol' Midwest brews... :-k

Do they not sell Johnsonville's here? I guess that I never looked...

I've looked at Bierkraft for Summit, thinking that's the one MN beer they might have, but they don't have it.

Hmmm... maybe I'll have to do a little diggin'...
  • Summit - not available within about 800 miles.

Leinie's - Distributor in NJ only carries one variety and only in kegs.

Primo - nothing closer than PA.

    :x :x :x

I could swear I've seen Leinenkugel at Eagle Provisions. Maybe I imagined it.

I bet they have Blatz and Schlitz, though.

    REALLY?!!

I always worry that the beer there is really old and skunked since they don't store it so well. Wonder how their turnover is...

Back in college, my friends convinced Schlitz to throw us a party. They sent us a free keg and really terrible things happened - every piece of furniture in the house was demolished and people smashed everything in sight. It's like that stuff that scientist drinks in Spiderman that turns him into a complete asshole with superhuman strength. Haven't touched the stuff since then.

The beers are organized by state--if they have it it shouldn't be too hard to find. Chances are they don't, but maybe you can get a few other MNans in on the order and make it worth their while
  • The info that I got re: distributors was from the breweries themselves... :( We would have to order a lot, indeed, for it to be worth their while to order from the Midwest.

Wait a second! I just remembered that I have an uncle that manages a liquor store and an old friend that owns one, both in MN! I'm sure that I could get someone to ship me out some stuff... Maybe I'll drop 'em a line and see how costly shipping would be... I'll report back with my findings.

I think that's illegal in this day and age. Tho someone did send me a sixer of Leinies many years ago and it was quite a wonderful thing to come home to.
  • Yup, just got off the line, and it is still illegal to ship out of the state of MN in addition to being prohibitively expensive... :-({|=

I thought that recently changed. Wasn't there some court ruling that invalidated the state laws that banned shipping of interstate wine orders on grounds that they were in restraint of interstate commerce? Did that not apply to beer? That wouldn't make sense at all.
  • I dunno, but that's what I was just told by Steve, owner of a liquor store that I worked next to for a several years... I could always call my uncle, though - they seem to do more, uh, upscale liquor there; stuff that would be more likely to be shipped.
  • Opening up on Dec 5th

    what about Bonnie's wings?
    AND
FYI cricket is on in the backroom of Sheep Station. the Aussie mens seem pretty excited...

The Supreme Court ruled that such laws were unconstitutional, but its uncertain whether the ruling applies beyond wine (which was the particular case before the court).
  • I saw brats mentioned in the wing postings. Is there a place one can get Milwaukee style brats? I just got back from there a week or two or ago, the food there is frigging delicious. And the roller derby girls are sweet. Okay back to Wings.
  • I went on Sunday, and enjoyed it immensely. The food is your typical bar food fare, but it was tasty. It was cheap, $4.25 for a 23 ounce bud light, $7 for a 23 ounce Newcastle.

There were TONS of TVs, finally the Sports Bar I have been looking for.

The service, to put it mildly, was not so good. I think my waiter was high as a kite. He couldn't remember my order, ever after asking me three times.

That said, I did have other staff come up to me asking if I needed anything, so maybe it was just my waiter that was totally useless.

I'm sure I will be there again this weekend!
  • I was JUST looking at this thread, and was going to ask if anyone had been yet! I need to get over there in the next few days. Even though your server sucked, I'm glad to hear that they have servers there - all of the ones in MN went to a place-your-order-at-the-counter-and-pick-up-when-your-number-is-called service... it really blew.

No Leinie's, I take it? We have a guest coming over from MN this weekend - she's going to try and bring me a 6-pack or two and a couple jars of Gedney pickles... :D
  • Well, they had a huge draft selection, but anywhere I go that has Newcastle, I order nothing else...
  • ic96 wrote: Well, they had a huge draft selection, but anywhere I go that has Newcastle, I order nothing else...
    Can't blame you for that...
  • Why's this thread in the Park Slope forum, anyway? Since when is the Atlantic Center in Park Slope?

....no biggie, just asking to pass the time.... :-'
  • So it's across the street...
  • Do they have Buzztime Trivia game there? Long-standing family tradition to head up to BW3 and play trivia, eat some wings and drink beer (back home in MI). Curious to know if they have it at the Atlantic place. Also, what time do they close? Are they on NYC 4am hours?

PS- also a huge footie fan and pissed Klinsmann isn't going to manage the Nats. Saw your avatar and thought you might want to commiserate.
