Why the word Park is in Park Slope

Is parking that tough in PH? It seems like I see a lot of spots (stupid New York thing to notice, I know - and I don't even have a car) when I'm in the neighborhood, but of course that's just a casual observation.

You have to move your car four times a week in PH. For some reason it's only twice in PS. If I wasn't so paranoid about break ins I'd probably park on McDonald Ave. between PPW and Ft. Hamilton right by Greenwood. Tons and tons of spaces available 24/7 and I believe you only have to move twice a week as well.
