Real Estate by Franklin C
Hi
We currently own a one bedroom in Fort Greene and have for 8 yrs but our family is getting bigger and we need more room. We're looking to buy a two family or one family home close in Bed-Stuy but want to stick closer to Clinton Hill (thank Stuyvesant Heights) because we've got a child in elementary school.
Does anyone know about the area around the Franklin C stop? Do you like it? And, do you think real estate prices are stabilized? Going down? Will eventually go up?
Interested in other's thoughts.
Thank you

Subject: Sorry for poor post
Okay, so lesson not to type while 2yo graps at keyboard...
we want to be closer to clinton hill and not further out in styvesant heights (even though it's beautiful) b/c we've got a kid in elementary school.
Thanks. -
I'm near Nostrand, which is 2 blocks east of Franklin. I'm really happy there and felt that I made a great decision. Stuy Heights is beautiful, but this area feels so much closer to the city, Clinton Hill, Ft G and the Slope. It's also less expensive right now, but I don't think that's going to last much longer. Neighbors are friendly, we've gotten used to the (lack of) amenities and had no problem renting our apartments at top of market.

We often walk to the Franklin Avenue C, but we're equally close to the Clinton-Washington C station. We prefer walking to Franklin going to Manhattan because we're more likely to get a seat. We like the little library and recommend the dry cleaner on Franklin across from the library. I don't have any worries about safety and some blocks off Fulton look nice. There seems to be enough shopping to satisfy many general needs, though I'm not usually drawn there to shop. If you like the block where you found the apartment or house and the price is right, it should be fine.
Howdy, Stranger!
