I actually kind of want that C-3PO tape dispenser. Is that wrong?

Damn, and they didn't even need to go to the crap movies. I guess C-3P0 was the Jar-jar of the '70's.
Ok, who has seen The Star Wars Holiday Special? Extra points for catching it when it first aired! -
What's the Holiday Special? Does Doug McClure do a special guest star as Darth Mistletoe?
Star Wars 1-3 are just awful. What's even worse is that Lucas fucked with the originals that they no longer look like the originals. I mean replacing David Prowse with Hayden Christensen at the end of Return of Jedi??? Sacrilegious! Prowse is the man! -
Wow! Sebastian Lewis Shaw played the ghost of Anakin at the end of Return of the Jedi not Prowse.

Well I certainly saw it the first and only time around... it sucked then, but now I think it's kind of cool.

I want to be able to enjoy it as a goofy artifact, but they really lose me when the elderly wookie starts getting sexually aroused in his easy chair while watching Jefferson Starship on his "future" TV. I can't go for that - no can do.
On the other hand, I rather enjoy the scene where the Empire thugs toss that wookie kid's room and gratuitously wreck his stuffed animals. Call me a bad guy, but it's oddly hilarious.
The cartoon is roundly considered the only worthwhile part of the whole mess, although the vintage ads are kinda fun. -
Carrie Fisher's bat-mitzvah lessons paid off. The "Princess Leia Sings" part is frigging hilariuos as well as spooky.

From Overheard In New York:
Star... Something... Something
Teen boy #1: No, the gold one is called 'CD3' or something. The little one is, like, 'R4M23.'
Teen boy #2: I think the gold robot was named 'R3DM24.' It was the small one that was 'C-something.'
Teen boy #3: No, man, the gold guy was 'C3DDO,' and the little silver one was 'RH52' or some shit.
Frustrated 30-something lady behind them: The gold one is 'C3PO' and the smaller one is 'R2-D2'!
Teen boy #2: Oh, thanks -- you can tell we're not Trekkies.

Some of those are so obviously made up that they should be sent to Penthouse Forum - that's not to say it wasn't funny, though.

On an equally geeky note, I just watched the Donner version of Superman 2. So much better this way. I'm not sure that I'll watch it enough to justify spending $20., on it, but I did really like it.
