i didn't mean to make this board like missing connections in CL, i really needed to say it, it was just so..unforgettable.

  • You're right. That's not like a Missed Connection. Could it be any more vague?

posting a vague missed connection is really entertaining, actually. try it out. you get emails from people being like "wait, what did my hair look like?" or "were you the really hot asian girl?" etc. I love using CL as entertainment.

I love the discussion of race relations that occur twice weekly over there. So enlightening.
  • Weird, I was just thinking about CL missed connections. Do they ever work? Seriously? What are the chances.

there was actually a p.heights hookup reported in the NYT awhile back. they 'met' outside of that gym on flatbush, posted missed connections, and now, I think, live together on my block. totally whack backstory that's not mine to tell, but yeah, I guess they work sometimes. if you check them, which I don't. I just post and mock. (is this why I'm single? should I be all paranoid now?)
  • Weird!

Okay, but if a "missed connection" actually connecting is newsworthy enough to make the NYT...

(Did you see the one today I think that was some girl saying "I look like ___ and I'm usually around ____, doesn't anyone ever want to post about me?" At least you're not thatguy. ;))

Ouch. Is it wrong though to look if someone posted about you once in a blue moon because you'd thereotically be recognizable by your distinctive accessory?
  • People always used to take out ads like that on the back cover of the Voice (between the "Patients needed for marijuana study" ads). I didn't realize it had moved online, although I guess it makes sense.

I think they had a series of profiles of people who'd met via missed connections.

I have a friend who now lives in Japan who posed a missed connection and ended up meeting up with a guy who wasn't the same guy and they started dating. that was in SF, though.

I remember that too! CL is killing the Voice's advertising revenue and budget. They're slashing contributor pay rates and everything.

Oh...my...god. i think it was me. 7" tall, albino, flippers for arms, wearing a muumuu?

No way! Look all you want, that's what they're for :)

But BEGGING for one is quite another matter, methinks!
  • I wonder what there is to smile about in the Bergen St station?
  • i want to believe it was me that he smiled..very optimistic, i know.
  • heh heh heh...the time i got doored on sterling...and let off a tirade of obscenities that would make a sailor blush...i also got smiled at by a very good looking bloke on his bike riding down flatbush... now if i wasn't taken...i'd have prbably pursued it. now i'm drunk so i'm just revelling inthe fact that the girl's still got it.
