Hmm. I haven't ordered that, so I don't know. But I usually get the sampler and there's usually enough left over for one or sometimes even two more meals.

I've only had the smothered chicken, mac/cheese, and stewed tomatos....it was good. But, yes, it was a little overpriced.

is this bob as in bob law? if so, who is he anyway? N

Bob Law is a reporter/newsman who has been on the radio in NYC for many years. About twenty years ago he started opening businesses on Vanderbilt Ave and has been a fixture there ever since.
When you say its expensive, are you comparing it to other soul food restaurants? Or just to other take out joints? Because its the only one I can think of in the PH area. -

Further down Vanderbilt. Here's a story/review from the Village Voice:

For the record though, I like Bob Law's better. -

when my wife and I go, we usually split an entree, it's too much for one. I like his food generally though we try to limit the amount of deep fried food we eat -
Everytime i go by Mitchells they are closed! Anyone know what their hours are like? What days they are open?
thanks
I'm in the mood for some good fried chicken! -
too much food, you must have a stomach like a chihuaha!!!

I've never gotten the shrimp, but the whiting dinner gets you a load of fish and two sides for about $10. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity (and I'm a big man). I love Bob Law's.
