New Pilates place on Wash?

I was walking home from Tom's yesterday and saw a storefront that I could have sworn said it was going to be opening as a pilates place (on Washington, somewhere btw. Sterling and Lincoln). Does anyone know the deal with that spot? I just recently quit Eastern Athletics and am looking for something new.

yeah, it's between st. johns and lincoln. I'm kinda psyched - I'm planning to take some classes there and also try out the cardio kickboxing at the martial arts place btwn sterling and st. johns. yay for fitness alternatives in PH!

I'm interested in the cardio boxing and also the new pilates place. Is PH a safe nabe though? Safe to walk there at night? After all I heard there were a lot of blacks there who are swollen with resentment, intent-to-mug and covetousness thanks to the influx of well-heeled whites to the area.

I sure as shit hope so - I somehow got home at 1 a.m. last night from the e.pkway 2/3 without being raped, mugged, shot, stabbed, assaulted, accosted or hit on. maybe it was just a good night in PS.

For some reason I thought you lived in Prospect Heights, not Park Slope.

I do. I thought you lived in PS and were referring to the post about muggings in PS. but hey, maybe I'm wrong. in any case, I have no problems late at night in PH. I've lived here several years now, and I love it. no one has a problem with the white Cuban girl. if they do, they don't say anything to me, at least.

<--Cuban girl too. It can be debated as to whether I'd be considered white or latina, or both....but since nobody has ever guessed my ethinicity, most would say "white".

And I have yet to have any problems anywhere. Luck, attitude, street smarts...who knows. I just hope it lasts.
