like to see someone buy this property on 15th street

there's a house for sale on my block that i would really like to see a family move into before a developer buys it.

is it inappropriate to discuss this kind of stuff in this forum.
apologies in advance if i'm being too skittish or irrelevant.

this is my first post and i'm very bashful.

  • PS They're asking $925k, but considering lower bids. It's a 2 family frame house that needs full renovation. It's on Filmore's website.

  • it's not your first post. it's your third. where the other two nearly identical postings went is beyond me, further down the board perhaps?

what's inappropriate is top-posting unless you're trying to get attention for something urgent: a lost cat, perhaps, or the fact that someone might be bleeding copiously from the head.
  • What Brooklyn Potter says is absolutely true. I'm going to move this to apartments and real estate. You might want to take a look at the rules of the board, posted at the top of each forum page.

    Thx

  • you guys are so righteous.

thank you for fixing my despicable error. i am ashamed and disgusted w/ myself.

i humbly and abjectly plead for your forgiveness. your scowling condescension is like pure spiritual rainwater for me and i gratefully receive your pious purification of my transgression.

dont look at me, i'm hideous!!
  • just be a grown-up... and notice that under your avatar there's the # of posts you've made.
  • oh...okay.
    I am sorry.
  • maybe you'd like to tell us why we should buy YOUR house.
  • now that you've hurt my feelings i dont feel like talking about it anymore.*

*SUBTEXT: said house is next door to a family that lives next to us.**

**CAN OF WORMS: this family espouses values trademarked by the harley-davidson foundation. they do not respect petit bourgeois yuppies like us. nor does the 72nd precinct, evidently. this family has successfully destroyed our quality of life for about five years.

a nice upper income family would likely alter their ability to reduce the quality of life for a lower-brow family like us. hate to betray the revolution and all but i just cant live w/ reggaeton being pumped into my floor joists. but this should really all be secret because it wouldn't help me sell "my" house.

said too much already, dont abandon your suspicions that i'm a realtor or whatever.
  • see, i know pretty much where the house is because i drive by it every day. and i'm always curious about which houses are up for sale, etc.

that said, the thought of moving in next door to lunatics, whereas right now i only have a lunatic above me, doesn't sound all that fun. esp. if the place needs gutting.
  • I know, it's hopeless. the price will probably go down so low that they'll be able to get some kind of grant from hud or whatever to buy it themselves.

why couldn't we live next to a nice methadone clinic or something.

i guess i just have to respect their ghetto ways.

Ride to live and live to ride, wooooooooooooooooooo! I wonder if you thought about how Harley owners would feel before you made such a hateful comment :(

Maybe this is a family of "One Percenters."
  • motorcycles are cool because they represent rebellion which is really cool. i hate conformity. people who conform to stuff are stupid. if they rode motor cycles instead of conforming, i would know they were hardcore and then i would respect them.

take me for example. society expects me to eat breakfast cereal. but i don't eat breakfast cereal. i eat toast and i use a toastmaster. therefore the toastmaster logo is the most accurate expression of my identity. and i don't use no samsung toaster!
