Older Guy on 9th and 6th? — Brooklynian

Older Guy on 9th and 6th?

There's an elderly gentleman who very often appears on the corner of 9th St and 6th Ave, by the drs office, leaning against the garbage cans - most often has a neck brace and is either taking a sip of something or is about to get assisted (somewhere) by paramedics (not to sound harsh but he really does seem to be in one state or the other). He doesn't seem particularly healthy and doesn't really acknowledge you when you walk by - what's his story?

  • Sounds like Marty Markowitz got locked out of his house again.
  • he has been that way for years , brace and all
  • Is he OK? Does he call 911 on himself or is it people in the neighborhood?
  • both, sometimes he'll go to the hospital just for the warmth and free meal

Sadly, it sounds like that is his story.
  • he has been around for a very long time and his state has not changed one iota
