Good bye

As many of you know, I finished law school last spring and went back to the â€œcorporateâ€ world this fall. As a result, it has become more difficult for me to keep up with the store. Consequently, after four great years on Vanderbilt Avenue, I will be closing HouseBroken at the end of January. Nonetheless, our pet-care service business, which will be celebrating its six year anniversary will continue to operate.

I want to thank you all for your support during these years and I want to encourage all of you to support our local businesses. I have truly enjoyed getting to know all of you, your families and pets. Please stop by to say good-bye.

Great sentiment! I hope all in this forum (all Boards) support their local biz's, not matter what they offer.

Bummer. It's a great shop, and I know just from seeing stuff here on the site from time to time that Vivian has done a lot to help animals in the neighborhood find homes as well.

On a more self-involved note, I hope all the yummy scented candles aren't all sold out by the time I get my next paycheck.

What divergent interests, no? opening a shop and studying law at the same time! That is quite a feat. (Did you intend to do that when you opened the store?) A friend of mine just passed the bar intending to do animal 'rights' law and it's a nice way to mesh the two 'interests.' good luck, vivian! I never made it into your shop when it was open but maybe will before you close.

Gah, if only I'd read this board before going there today! I def. would've grabbed more stuff than just soap and a yummy candle (which, btw, is currently making our apt smell like maple syrup)! There's always tomorrow... we'll be back to see you, Viv!

Thank you all for your support. It was definitely a difficult decision to make, but the right decision for me. I am looking forward to having some weekends to myself. I may actually be able to finally have brunch at Beast.

Apollonia666 â€“ We definitely still have candles, but come quick. Everything is being liquidated (including the furniture/fixtures) so they are moving fastâ€¦ I am also only open Friday â€“ Sunday for the next 2 weeks.
