shots this morning (1/6) on sterling?

i heard gunshots this morning around 5:30 -- 2 in a row, then a minute later 5 more. sounded like it was coming from sterling place between washington and underhill but i'm not positive. i heard no sirens afterward so i'm assuming no one was hurt.

anyone know any more?

I completely forgot about that--now that you say that, I heard them too, but I guess I fell immediately back to sleep--I'm on Park b/w Underhill and Washington and they sounded a bit distant--further down the block and maybe north

i heard them, too. woke me up. first 2 shots, then a bit later i heard 4 shots. about 10 min later i heard 1 more shot, which is when i called the police. at one point i thought i could hear two men talking, but i coudldn't make out what they were saying. i knew it was coming from around underhill and sterling, but wasn't completely sure.

does anyone have more information?

well, now I know we weren't dreaming - we heard them too, exactly asa islingtonian described them - 2 then 4 then 1.

So if you called the cops, did they ever come? What was the end result?

Does anyone think they might not have been gunshots? (Illegal fireworks or something?)

The first two bangs were at 5:18 AM, and then a few more around 5:30. I don't know the sound handguns make all that well, but these sounded lighter and more 'papery' than gunshots. Fireworks, I suspect. Also, the various voices on the street were talking and laughing afterwards, not yelling, which was a pretty good sign.

hopefully they were just fireworks. they sounded different though - i heard a lot of fireworks at new years and when i used to live in london. these sounds came a lot faster than fireworks, and were harder, sharper...that's the only way i can think to describe them. i didin't hear any screaming afterward, so hopefully noone was hurt.

i don't know what happened with the police. i gave them my contact info but never heard anything after that. didn't hear sirens after i called them. i don't know if i was able to give them enough information to find out what happened ( i basically told them what i posted on here).

on another note, i've also heard a lot of outside, walking down the street at all hours domestic disputes lately. they always come from washington, walking towards underhill (im on prospect place).... a few times a week i always hear girls crying, their boyfriends yelling at them... at the top of their lungs, as theyre walking down the street. does anyone else witness this??? i'm never sure if i should call the cops or not. it always just seems like baby-mama-drama. once the cops did come though, because i saw the guy grab his girlfriend and push her super hard against the fence across from my building. it just seems as if these outdoor arguments have been happening a lot more lately. i also heard two men around noon on sunday yelling at one another. that woke me up.

I live in a ground floor apartment so I also hear a lot of agressive screaming and yelling. When in doubt, I call the cops. I'd rather be the crazy girl who is always calling the cops than the person who had the chance to save someone's life and did nothing.

oh, i've called several times. it just seems that it's been happening a lot more often these days.
