Recent college grads: where do they hang here?

Be brave, sweetsummercorn - be the youngan at those spots. 20s are 20s, be it early 20s, early-mid 20s, late-mid 20s, or just plain late 20s. I like Ripple Bar on Washington Ave & St. Johns, and Sepia on Underhill & Lincoln Place. Both are cozy, friendly and usually have good soul or hip hop music playing. For straight early-20s vibes, I'm drawing a blank unless you hit Williamsburg or the weekend LES.

For the early 20's crowd I would recommend the Cherry Tree at 65 4th Avenue (between Bergen and St. Marks Avenue). Definitely has a younger crowd, good drink specials and some food (brick oven pizzas, burgers, etc. A

I graduated two years ago. I hang out at Joyce and Soda primarily.
-
I graduated in May '05, my bf graduated in August '06, and we just moved here. So I'm with you, sweetsummercorn... time to hit up Soda/Cherry Tree/Ripple/Sepia...

Don't worry, at some point you'll feel uncomfortable at the opposite end of the spectrum when you wander into Ripple or Soda and mutter to yourself, "Jeezus, I must be the oldest person in the room" in your late 30s to early 40s...can't we all just get along and drink?

/jolts down all the younger places names.

Of course we can! -
funny - I've been bemoaning all the damn college kids from the jewish hospital taking over my beloved soda and turning it into a bar for the early-20s set. I guess my jail-bait meter is set a bit high ...

Any place for "the gays" to chill in the neighborhood besides park slope?

Any real estate office I imagine. -

chocolate monkey (if it's still open) used to have a lesbian night. not sure if they had a generalized queer night.
and, of course, there's the first gay bar in brooklyn in crown heights - check out the starlight. -
i have to know where the only gay bar in crown heights is!
i heard there is a men's gay club in bed-sty but i have never been in there.
i find that queer ladies like myself can be spotted occasionally in PH, but primarily yes PS at ginger's and cattyshack. -
Most of the regulars at O'Connors are ladies. Or at least they play softball like it.

You think you're at a loss. Where would a Druid, a Cleric, various Rangers, a Theif, a Monk and a dwarf Fighter go for a drink in an Orc free environment? Especially after we lost out Berzerker. -
Apparently, in order to be allowed to attend a dailyheights happy hour, you have to be of "fighter" class. And have proficiency in the "popcorn toss".

hey hey orc's are just misunderstood!!! without orcs. weapon makers, armorers, potion makers, would be out of jobs!
so would be wizards and warriors etc..
plus orcs are just freaking cool! -

in this county of kings, there might in fact be a mythical gay orc bar (ginger's) far from dangerous places where kobold nest among tree people (oc's), a place far from where the undead play (freddy's) after traveling for days lost in a cold dark snowy valley (soda), where illusionists speak untruth (monteros).
but I am Karl, a lowly druid with a true nuetral alignment and modest hit points. i come form a place where i posses no armor nor sharp weapon (jackie's 5th amendment). i wander westward to search uncharted lands (hank's) for a mythical place where people under 25 are rumored to leave a tip over a quarter, a place where the hatchlings know when to take that cell call outside because we don't really care about your friend Alissa's dog or where you got that tee shirt, a place where the elvin folk know better not block the bathroom with their badly placed chairs and their boulder-sized backpacks. i'll search this borough far and wide (sonny's) but i might fail my quest. -
thats beautiful man!

You could try socializing with people who aren't in your exact, narrow age demographic (and who may not necessarily have college degrees). Sadly, this kind of insularity seems to be more and more prevalent in this neighborhood. A shame, really.

i'm 24 and usually just go to the LES. I agree that a places round here do seem a bit beyond the early-20's age range as far as nightlife goes.
Howdy, Stranger!
