Hey neighbor. I'm on your block, as is my roommate and other occasional poster Meggle. Let me know if you need a hand while moving.

At the move, will there be pizza and beer? And wireless internet?

Welcome to the neighborhood! Hopefully we'll see you at the happy hour 8/31.
I have been reading a bunch on the site....you guys are great. I am moving onto Bergen and Vanderbilt next week, from hells kitchen, and looking forward to exploring the hood.

My block, too. Between Soda, the Wing Wagon, Delicacies, La Rena, Penas, Half, Amorina, the stoop dwellers, the Korean Bakery that *may* open, the hipsters, Little Miss Muffin N Her Stuffin, the gospel music on Sundays, that endearing car alarm (mid-90s Dodge minivan, wood paneling) that's always going off and this sweet, sweet Web site... you're gonna love the place.
(One of these days, minivan. A brick through the window!) -

Fair warning might be a good move. Put a note on the window in big letters: FIX YOUR ALARM. NEXT TIME I USE A BRICK.

Speaking of which, how has the city council weaseled out of passing the No Car Alarms law for so long? I laud Bloomberg for trying to quell lots of noises (Mister Softee, for instance), but car alarms are conspicuously absent from those proposed provisions. -

I used to live next to the mister softee garage in Williamsburg. You know, they play that jingle shit all the way. It'd be one in the morning and you'd still hear them, straggling back from the other boroughs. That song makes me instantly violent. -

I used to live on 5th avenue (in harlem) between 132nd street and 135th street across from some projects. on the first floor. the mister softee truck would park at the projects for HOURS. I wanted to die. that song makes me twitch in that ministry sort of way. but I love their chocolate ice cream. enough with the song, bring on the fattening faux-dairy.
