JFK to far end of the Slope
I leave down near the cemetary (some would call this Greenwood Heights, some would say its Park Slope, I know there is a seperate GH board but few people post there and some declaring the area to be one neib or another could be fighting words! so please forgive for posting on the PS board).
In any case, I live near the cemetary and when I come home from JFK cab drivers go down Eastern Parkway, loop around Grand Army Plaza and then back towards the cemetary. This seems to be the long way home. Is there a more direct route? There must be.
Thanks!

That's the best way - no Belt to Gowanus to Prospect Expwy BS. That's the long way, unless you're traveling at 4am and there's no traffic or construction. That's still the long way - take a look at the map of Brooklyn and see.
Coming back - Belt/Conduit/Atlantic/Rockaway Av/Eastern Pkwy/GAP/PPW to Bishop Ford HS/entrance to Green-Wood, make a right on 20th St. That seems about right. Not that much commercial traffic, either. A pleasant ride, once you're on Eastern Pkwy.
I've tried all ways - Belt/Conduit/Linden Blvd/Caton Av/Fort Hamilton Pkwy for example looked good, but there's too much traffic at all hours. Especially in the Flatbush Ave area. -
I agree with DW. Stay with EP to GAP, etc. If you're in your own car, or a friend is driving you home you can do the Belt W to the Prospect Expwy. However, if you get caught in a traffic jam before the Coney Island Ave. exit (or is it Knapp St.?) you're fucked.

agree with all above. unless i'm in my own car at an off hour, i have the car service take ep to conduit to jfk.
by the by, personally, i think the nabe will eventually be known as "the south slope". greenwood heights is a vest pocket of ss.
