Manicures in Park Slope?

I just moved here and I am looking for a decent manicurist. Unfortunately, I need them to always look nice for work and I have to get the fake nails because my nails break easily. My old manicurist in Hoboken did them really thin - in a non-crack whore looking way! If any ladies have any idea what I am talking about or can recommend a place?

    Lavendar Nails on PPW near Prospect Ave. Jackie (the owner) does good silk wraps (no acrylics).

    I used to go to 5 Color Nail Salon years ago, back when I was into long nails. They were reasonably priced and very sweet. They did a great job too. Hope this helps!

    There are 2 nail salons on the same side of the block (between 11th and 12th), 5 Color is the 2nd one heading towards 12th Street. I know there are a bunch before 9th Street but I haven't heard anything about them. If you go, let me know how you like them!

    I'm curious, is this a requirement for your male coworkers as well? I understand having clean nails, but that they're manicured and long? Sounds sexist.

    OK, I've finally registered! I apologize if in my writing I sounded as if it was an "absolute" requirement for work. It's more that I am constantly traveling and meeting with clients and would like to look groomed. Since I am just unable to grow strong nails - I have tried vitamins, supplements, etc., they just grow to a certain point, are pretty weak and then just break off - it is just easier to sometimes get them done because it lasts really long. And the way I like to get them, they look natural (not crack-whore) and NOT long at all. My best friend tells me I am high maintenance to look low maintenance if that helps :-)
    So - no, no sexist things going on, just a girl new to the slope, looking for recommendations. But at this point I have talked way too long about nails hahaha. (I guess back in Hoboken we had a lot of nail salons)

    Seven Nails on 7th and Union (second floor). They are hands-down the best in the Slope.

    I've been using Seven nails for 3 years now. I get my nails done biweekly and they do a professional and flawless job. Avoid Saturday mornings. It gets a little crazy esp. since they dont accept appointments.

    I decided to skip Seven nails so I went to the nail place to on Union between 6th and 7th next to the tea lounge. It smelled funny, staff were rude and unprofessional and they ruined my nails. I would avoid it at all costs.
