it's nice to know that maybe we'll have a real* winter after all
*temperatures below 60 degrees -
I wanna stay home from work, sled, and drink hot chocolate all day!
And make fudge! And snow angels! And catch flakes on your tongue!
When I woke up this morning, the first thing I saw was snow...the big, fluffly, bright-white flakes.....Sadly, it'd stopped by the time I went outside. -
I'm currently at work wondering how long it'll take for me to get out of work, back home and into the snow... which will probably be slush by 7pm

It was AWESOME seeing the big fat flakes yesterday!! -
The National Weather Service is predicting a few flurries Saturday and Sunday.....I bet Prospect Park looks beautiful today.

Yay! And I just got a sled at Target this past weekend!
FYI- if anyone is interested in sledding in the park and doesn't have a sled, you should go get one now, because they always sell out as soon as a real snow comes.
The most expensive sleds there are under $10, btw. -
wait. is there enough snow to actually sled? it looked like way less than an inch to me ...
-
Best all-purpose sled: heavy plastic rectangle (like a slick-instead-of-sticky yoga mat) with a handle cut out of one end. They roll up nice, and work for adult body weights. I got one at a hardware store upstate, don't know if they sell 'em around here.
I *wish* I still had my aluminum flying saucer...the plastic versions suck. -

Not this time. But it gives me hope that we'll have a real winter after all. -

They had a couple of different roll-up type sleds at Target. I used to have a couple of those old aluminum disc sleds too. And an old-fashioned wood and metal Flexible Flyer.

I just walked past the park, and there are only a few small patches of snow.

It was just enough snow for Panda to enjoy. It helps when you're 10 lbs

There's a moderate El Nino happening in the South Pacific, the North Atlantic Oscillation is in weak positive territory, and the water temperature above normal in the North Atlantic. Don't expect much snow this year.

I did like those flying saucers. We would use the tops to the metal garbage cans when we didn't have one or a plain old cardboard box. Who used to pile all the snow on the stoop and slide down with those bad boys - ahhh such fun
