Neighborhood parking
Hi - I'm thinking of moving to Cobble Hill area and considering two apartments. Parking is one of my concerns, so I'm curious if anyone in the neighborhood can give me the lowdown.
Is there any difference in availability of street parking between these two locations? It seemed like Smith St area would be more difficult when I was there last night, but it might have just been the night... Also, are there many garage options in the area?
- Smith/Wyckoff vs Clinton/Kane
Thanks!

I believe, but am not 100% positive, that if in the Smith/Wyckoff area that you have to move your car 4 of the 5 weekdays versus at Clinton/Kane where you only have to move your car 2 of the 5 weekdays. It's my experience that it is easier to park the further away from Smith you get, unless you are parking on Smith down at the Carroll Gardens end. I used to live near Pacific/Smith and we had to move our cars often whereas we are in Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill now and on street parking is much easier. There are some garage options but mostly in Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights. Good luck. -
i'm going to attempt to revive this topic. we are in cobble hill (henry), and if cg, or cb, or cb/cg is known as "easier" than anywhere else i'm going to have to (more) seriously consider finding a regular spot somewhere (although i'm fairly certain that's probably out of our budget). i find the street situation around these parts to be quite difficult and was wondering if maybe it's easier above atlantic? granted i like to stick to an 18-block area, but personally i think that's casting a pretty wide net and i am often astounded at how hard it is to find a space. incidentally, i learned a long time ago to move the car (at least) two nights ahead of the street cleaning, and even then it's a drag.

above Atlantic forget it.
Smith/Wyckoff easier than near Clinton. (streets west of Smith are cleaned only once week) - streets east are twice.
Monday and wednesday nights are toughest in general area for finding space where doesn't need to be moved next day.
If drive every day parking not problem.
