Shoe Repair Suggestions?

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but...

I have a great pair of boots that I've worn for 3 years now and they need some repair. The leather has ripped at the seams on one ankle. Any suggestions as to who might do a nice job at shoe repair?

Preferably close to 7th Ave/9th St.

    Well I tried the shoe repair guy on 9th street near 7th ave. He did an OK job, but I guess I'm spoiled by my favorite Italian cobbler located in NJ. He does such a great job I actaully save my repairs and bring them there when i visit my family.

    Last weekend while on Flatbush, a shoe repair place caught my eye right near 7th ave. It's called Italian Shoe Repair. I only needed tips put on my boot heels to prevent them from wearing down, and the nice man there did it right then in front of me and charged me $2. They have just gained a loyal customer. He said he's open everyday, except sometimes on Sunday. It's worth the trip up there.

    Cool. Thanks. That's really not far. I'm having trouble with the idea of parting with the boots for a couple of days, b/c they are still wearable, but need to be fixed.

    Well this guy seems very quick! I was annoyed at other show repair places for overcharging me and wanting to keep my boots for a few days to attach the tips (which literally took two minutes). I'm so happy to have found a reliable cobbler since the sidewalks literally eat my shoes.

    I used the guy on 9th Street a bunch of times when I lived near there. He did a great job on everything, I think it was all boots. He's quick and not expensive.

    Sorry, the guy on 9th street between 5th and 6th Aves. I think it's called Bravo, it's a tiny place but he's very good.

    If, by "the guy on Flatbush, near 7th Ave" you mean the store with the black and yellow awning on the northwest corner, across from the subway exit, I concur.
    He's a young man named Alex (his father/uncle or older relative also works there)
    I've been using him for leather repairs as well as jewelry repairs and have been totally satisfied.

    Hi actually, I think I mean another place... The Italian shoe Repair has a green awning and is on the south east corner of Flatbush avenue, next to American Apparel. Thanks for letting us know about that one as well.

    I've used both places on either side of Flatbush because I wasn't happy with the Bravo place on 9th. Cheap yes. Also your shoes will fall apart again after 6-8 weeks.

    Either Flatbush place offers much more craftsman-ship. Still wondering why the Italian place charges $15 for even the smallest job (replacing a screw in a leather bag). Sometimes I go across the road to the bigger place. They're both great in terms of quality.
