Chinese Resturant in Crown Heights. — Brooklynian

Chinese Resturant in Crown Heights.

Hello everyone ,

I was wondering if any of you know of a Chinese Rest. in the Crown Heights area by Franklin Ave , Eastern Parkway , Classon , Washington Ave.?

I have already tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken at New Peking on Franklin Ave. , its was good , but I have had way better back in Michigan.I also had the sweet/sour from the Halal Chinese Rest. in Park Slope on 5th Ave. , but I don't feel like walking all the way out there all the time. I want somewhere nearby , preferably one that delivers.....and one that has the BEST BEST sweet/sour chicken....hook me up please :)

P.S. Has anyone ever tried General Tso's Chicken at a Chinese rest. around here? Was it goooooooood??

  • General Tzos is a tricky dish to find made right. If you can make the trip, Szechuan Delight on 7th ave near garfield Pl makes some decent food. Wok n Roll Across from Blockbusters on Flatbush and sterling has a few good dishes. But I have yet to find a a Chinese place that satisfies all my needs.
  • Thanks for the info.

I only like to eat sweet and sour chicken w/shrimp fried rice.I don't really try anything else. The General Tso's chicken I only had once in Michigan and it was fanatastic! I wanna find a place in Crown Heights that makes both dishes the best...and then that resturant will be my new bestfriend :)
  • Kam Hong usually makes a nice, sweet and a bit spicy Gen. Tso's Chicken. Call ahead, the woman's name is Agnes and tell her you want it crispy and hot and she'll have someone throw a ton of peppers in that shit. Not bad at all. They're on Washington btw St. Johns and Lincoln. Yummy!

I don't want it that spicy though , Agnes can save the peppers for you  . I like my food sweet , but not so spicy :)

Do they deliver? If so , do ya have the number?

    Thanks Ho......I mean LEEho :-'
  • No prb, I am a HO. Their number is 718.857.5475. Hope you weren't hoping for that tonight, as it's 1 a.m. Sadly, they are closing at the end of the month due to Agnes' husband's back.
  • Cool thanks!

I'm gonna hit them up later this evening.

I want to take someone who is visiting Brooklyn to get some pizza.I'm thinking of Frannys Pizza .I heard it was really good , and nearby. Is it really good?
I don't want to take her to a pizza place that doesn't have good pizza , because she was told by others that Brooklyn has the best pizza.

    DiFara's is pretty great!

never been to franny's but the menu doesn't look like authentic ny/brooklyn style pizza.

    there's also Grimaldi's

  • geez! you people and your general Tso's chicken. don't you know eating that is like getting a cheeseburger in a steakhouse? there are better things in chinese restaurants, even the take-out kinds. expand your culinary horizons!
  • Hah! More like getting a cheeseburger at Tads Steaks!
