Junkyard puppy needs help [NEW! Photo]

For the last couple of months a great rotti-puppy has been living on a junkyard lot on Bergen tied to a tree. Her owner finally agreed to give her up and now she needs to find a home or a place to stay while she finds the right home. She is about 9 months old and less than 50lbs. She is super sweet and loves people. Since she spends all her time alone she will need some training - she has never been inside a house. However, she is smart and eager to please. I am taking her to the vet to have her shots this week, but otherwise she seems to be in good shape. Of course, she will be spayed ASAP.

It would be nice if we find get her a loving home right here in PH, and not have to put her in the system, which can be pretty traumatic. Pictures of her in a day or so as soon as I get a chance to get over there.

Sadly I can't fit quality dog care in my schedule but growing up my family had two female rotti's and they were both friendly and amazing dogs... good luck!

Here she is! I met her yesterday, and can report she's sweet, playful and anxious to please. We taught her "sit" in about a minute. She needs to learn how to walk on a leash. This dog is so happy for any attention, she'll make such a loving pet. She's only about 50 lbs, a purebred Rottweiler, and contrary to the photo, has a normal sized tongue.

Please, please spread the word so we can get her out of the car lot. You can contact me or Vivian at Housebroken to meet her. Thank you so much!

I can't take her, but if she needs care/support in the mean time, I'd volunteer to walk her once a week and chip in on food costs. Who has her now?

If you'd like to walk {remember, she doesn't know how to walk on a leash} and/or give this super-friendly pup some personal attention, please see Vivian at her shop, HouseBroken, on Vanderbilt and Bergen. The dog is still chained to her tree in the lot, as there's nowhere else for her to go yet.

If I didn't already own 2 rescued dogs and a rescued cat, she'd be getting comfortable at my place. Thank you, PHers! Please do continue to ask around. :P

Her new owner is the owner of a doggy daycare (Woof and Whiskers) in Red Hook... She is a very lucky girl. She gets to play with dogs all day long. Thank you for all of your help.
