Dining in Midwood

My boyfriend lives in Midwood, and I am seeking eateries that are not typical fast food joints, or kosher establishments. He lives a few blocks from DiFara's, (fine, but who needs the lines?) and some OK strictly kosher retaurants on Ave J.
I see nothing interesting in the immediate area. We have been to the Farm on Adderly, liked it a lot. Seeking the same vibe.
Any suggestions?

Taci's Beyti, on Coney Island Avenue near Avenue P, is the best Turkish cuisine I've ever had outside of my Turkish friend's kitchen. There's also a great Turkish pastry place on the same block. Further north, there's this great place called Famous Pita that serves a neato combination of Ashkenazi and Middle Eastern stuff, and makes amazing pita bread (think it's near Ditmas Avenue), and the fabulous Pakistani restaurant Madina, on Beverley and CIA.

My favorite place in the whole nabe is just a few doors down from The Farm and it's called Picket Fence. I love this place. The food is great and it's really friendly. I eat here at least once a week.
