Movers? — Brooklynian

Movers?

I'm moving in on Saturday, and I'd like to get it over ASAP.

Does anyone know of any good movers? The truck is packed and loaded...I'm just looking for some guys to help lug stuff up the stairs.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

  • Guarenteed, at least three guys off the street will offer to help you unload.

as for reputable, I've had good luck with Rabbit MOvers, but they're vans n all
  • Hey Brook - if I am not mistaken you are moving to Bergen/Underhill area - there is a nice gentleman who sits in the corner store who helps me with when cleaning my yard etc. He is always willing to make a buck. Also if you go to the corner of Ft. Hamilton Parkway and 39th Street there are always day laborers there. Someone once said the Home Depot parking lot (Hamilton Avenue and like 15th Street) but I have never used them.
  • I've used Moishe's, with no problems whatsoever.

My advice to you is that you get at least 3 guys: one unloading, one shuttling to the door/elevator and you and another guy getting in the house. Safest way as well as efficient. Also, keep the keys handy to the truck and get a padlock. If the NYPD starts busting your balls about double parking you can move real quick and if you have to leave the truck unattended it is always wise to have a substantial pad lock.
