Log in w/o changing/going to another page

There should be a popup window to log into the site, like Trulia has, without leaving the page.
If I see a post I want to reply to, and I'm not logged in...

I have to go to
login page and log in then
main page of forums then
specific forum page then
specific post then
finally get to be able to reply
and then finish.
God forbid if I want to quote someone.

Check how Trulia does it. It would make things a lot smoother.

  • yep. that's the future of log-in pages,
it's not the easiest to implement as it involves DHTML and needs to be tested for cross-browser/platform compatibility
  • 1) Nice avatar, grandzu

    2) If guest posting were not allowed, once you hit the 'reply' or submit buttons, it automatically takes you to the login page. Once you enter your login and pass, it'll return you to where you left off, but signed in, of course...
