Subject: Luke Alberts at Park Terrace Properties
Luke Alberts at Park Terrace Properties. A little brusk and to the point, but as two recent (read: three months out) college grads that were required to use guarantors he really went above and beyond to make sure that we found something affordable and served as a great liaison with landlords as we navigating the guarantor process. He showed us four apartments: we would have been just as a happy in any as in the one we ultimately chose. He had a great relationship wtih our landlord, who is also a lovely, kind woman. Everything about the experience was wonderful. Highly recommended. -
I'll second the Luke Alberts vote. I felt genuinely sad that I didn't end up taking one of his apartments. He showed great apartments and was a pleasure to work with - but he ultimately didn't have what we were looking for.

Subject: Brokers......
Ugh, really? That Luke guy drove my wife and I nuts....too overbearing for our tastes, kind of used car salesmanish, and didn't have anything good for us.
We haven't found a place yet, but so far our fave has been Kristine at Coldwell Banker (the one near Carroll). She showed us a couple nice places (they seem to get good exclusives), but the thing we appreciated most was there wasn't any run around, we didn't really want to run around in the cold seeing places that weren't close to what we want. -
i'm a recent import from chitown, too and used aguayo and huebner based on a rec from a friend. they showed me ONE apt...and it just so happens that it was the winner. i tried with other brokers and found that they just weren't listening to what i said i wanted in a place.
it was probably part luck but i know that there's no way i'd find a better apt in park slope for the amount i'm paying. there is something to be said for a&h's exclusive listings, even if they don't have tons of places for you to see. i'd rather look at a few places and find the right one than look at 20 and they all suck.
