  • Not sure yet if I can make it; won't be until a bit later on (9-9.30ish) if I can. May have a couple of others in tow.

I'm thinking that we should get several airhockey and ping pong tables as people arrive - they're going to charge us for everyone, whether or not people only 2 people are playing at a time... Anyway, yeah, might as well get our money's worth.
I thought the price for an Air Hockey Table was $5 for a half an hour. Why would they charge everyone individually too, on top of this fee?

    ?I've never been there?
  • I know that the billiards and ping pong tables are charged per person, per hour. So, if you have 4 people, but only 2 are playing at a time, you still get charged at the rate of 4 people... I'm almost certain that the airhockey tables are the same... Carny, do you know for sure?
  • just leaving work now. will be late folks. I'll txt Carny to advise.
  • The renovations look nice. But I'll miss standing around with a paper bag...
  • Sorry I didn't make it last night--I had classes until late and then had to watch a cadaver dissection on DVD for class. Fun night, really. I probably wouldn't have won anyway.
  • last night pretty much rocked. so good to see pensodyssey again and to see him kick ass at the air hockey tables with all of the intensity of, well, dudes who love dodgeball. I got my ass handed to me by Carny 7-4. oh well.

best part of the night, though, was Mooney's post. the barkeeps know how to make shamrocks (and question marks, and punk-rock hands) on pints of guinness! gorgeous. and I always forget how much their jukebox rules.
  • It was fun. Sorry for wussing out on Mooneys.

I hope WhyFi managed to recover at least part of his shattered psyche at darts.

    Also, I rule at dodgeball.
  • So I didn't have the strongest showing at the hockey tables - 'least I'm man enough to step up (and I did show improvement over the night)... Pens, why don't you tell the kids about table tennis... oh wait, you wouldn't go near the table... oh ho...
  • So were there, or were there NOT fordys!!??
Where the King Cobra tales? The Miller High Life?! The SCHLITZ for Godsakes!

Anyone get hit in the eye with an errant air hocky puck?!?
  • What happens at air hockey throwdown stays at air hockey throwdown.

The first rule of air hockey throwdown is "you don't talk about air hockey throwdown."
The second rule of air hockey throwdown is "you don't talk about air hockey throwdown."

Didn't see that happen, but there were definitely some flying pucks. Oh and I knocked a tree onto Carnivore's head. Sorry about that.
  • It's true I wouldn't play ping pong.

But only because I was afraid of the shards of snifter lurking tableside.
  • Broken stemware makes you emotionally unstable...? Figures...

yeah ... I think Carnivore hit me with a few pucks. thankfully, not in the face.

Ah yes, I do remember hearing the sound of crunching glass coming from the vicinity of WhyFi's feet. Another place we're sure to be banned from...

Hmmmm... why was I over there...? Oh yeah, I was chasing down an errant ball. Completely unnecessary if my opponent could just keep his shots down and on the table...

I told you man, it's those defective paddles. They should really do something about those. Even a pro like myself has problems with equipment like that.

when you wrote that, this is the only thing i could think of

    did he duck, at least?
  • It's not the paddle, it's how you swing it.

I've been told by reliable sources that the paddle matters too.

If you'd'a experienced any of my family thanksgivings between '81 and '86, you'd be snifterphobic too.
