Ha Ha, as if Prospect Heights is untouched

Just be thankful PH has not been infected with screaming stroller syndrom. Oh why oh why did I cross Flatbush?
-
Park Slope is where I do all my furniture shopping on the sidewalk at 2 am. I believe they've furnished my entire apartment. Thank you Park Slope!

>screaming stroller syndrome
Hmm... "Strollers that Scream." That's nice. I'm picturing a bunch of parents, gathering in a Starbucks parking lot to show off their tricked-out Maclarens. Changing out the wheels, polishing the chrome... -
what i find so strange is this:
i lived in the same apartment in the Slope (on Lincoln, near 7th) for three years, and met maybe one neighbor three houses down and that's it (my building occupants not included). eye contact was not done. as i had just moved from manhattan (loisaida represent!), this seemed normal.
as soon as i moved to PH tho, i met practically everyone on my block. eye contact and a smile is required. which is nice. for the most part. -
Subject: Which side of the tracks ...
As having experienced life on various locations on both sides of the PS/PH tracks since oh, about 1992, I have to admit to some good things about PS. (Screaming Strollers NOT one of them, by the way --- ahhh, horrifically horrifying get me away from it all please !!!!!!).
1. Community Bookstore
2. Oshima at 71 7th Avenue
3. Hunan Delight on Union
4. The burgeoning life and new little stores on 5th Avenue
That said, I ain't goin' back (unless I can buy a mansion on PPW -- which is highly unlikely) .... -
Is this it? Where's the bashing? Where's the bloodlust? I never thought I'd quote Newt Gingrich, but "where's the outrage?"
I thought this forum was supposed to be a sort of virtual pinata.
 -
Subject: Tracks
I think it was Bob Dole who said "where is the outrage" ... but I could be wrong.
I see no reason for "blood lust" Carnivore, nor a virtual pinata. PH has benefitted over the past several years as a function of the "spillover" effect of rising housing prices and attendant gentrif- and yuppification of PS. Like it or not.
I, like most of the people on this message board, prefer PH, but I see no reason for villification of those unfortunates on the other side of the tracks. Sympathy maybe, but not vilification or blood lust. We're not living in the days of Henry VIII (or are we? hmmm).
As I believe Rodney King said (and, correct me if I am wrong) "can't we all just get along?"

Right you are about my misquote:

I also appreciate the benefits of our proximity to PS. I was just hoping to stir things up a little. -
Subject: ads on this site
anyone notice that the ads at the top of this page are mostly for strollers?
