Gamestop robbed again
For the 2nd time in a month Gamestop was robbed tonight around 8-8:30pm. They locked all the employees in the back room and cleaned the place out. I was coming back from the newsstand and saw a large black SUV parked in front of Jack Rabbit. There were 3 African-American men, one behind the wheel, and 2 putting black garbage bags in the back of the SUV. Unfortunately I'm only good at remembering objects not faces. I thought it was strange at the time but it didn't occur to me that they robbed a store.
The SUV was bigger than a regular SUV and had letters on the side in front of the passenger door. I thought it was something like CLFN but haven't come up with anything on Google. I told the cops all of this and left my name and number. I hope this info will be somewhat helpful, maybe someone else saw something.

It's good that no one was hurt - but that won't last. Eventually something will really bad will be done. Hopefully the police are on this.
Edited because I reread the first sentence again this morning and I hated it. Too busy to rewrite ATM. -
Good catch, Caseopele! Makes me want to bring my digital camera out in case such a situation arises again. I saw the detectives outside the store last nite, interviewing the employees and a couple of witnesses. Poor employees looked absolutely shaken up.

if they don't have a guard. they should hire one
no gun. just a uniform and a radio
a visual deterrent... -
Gamestop on 7th and Garfield??? How is it possible to rob a place on 7th at that time? There are usually people walking... the bodega is open until at least 9. If the whole street wasn't lined with real estate shops and other businesses that shutter up at 6:00 this would be much more unlikely to occur. Very disturbing.

Apparently it's quite possible if this is the second time it's happened. I imagine if the suspects walked in close to closing time, quickly directed the employees to the back, locked them up, and proceeded to fill garbage bags with the most expensive loot, many passerbys would just think they were employees throwing out the garbage. -
I just spoke to a detective about what I saw and he says they might have a lead on the SUV. I feel bad that I didn't pay more attention to what was going on. Apparently, the robbers went in and forced everyone in the back room and put the gate down to make it look like they were closed.
Whoever owns that Gamestop doesn't seem to care about the employees at all. In the 6 years I've worked on that block they've been robbed once or twice a year but they haven't done anything about providing security. It's known as an easy target in the neighborhood. The last time they were robbed (in January) was on a Friday or Saturday night. I just hope the owners decide to do something this time to protect the employees. -
no wonder they never have any wiis
