Love, Love, Love. Sing and Win a Ham!!
Sing a song of love at the
Sing-and-Win-a-Ham Contest
at Freddy's, Wednesday night February 21.
Join us, That Yarn Guy and your host Bill C,
on the Wednesday after Valetine's Day
at this monthly musical blood sport.
It's like fight club with lyrics!
Will Keep Us Together. Modern Love. Endless Love. Burning Love. Somebody to Love. She Loves You. Can't Buy Me Love. Love and Marriage. To Sir, with Love. Love me Tender. I Can't Help Falling in Love. Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I Honestly Love You. My Melody of Love. Love Shack. I Love the Night Life. I will Always Love You. I Hate Myself for Loving You. Tainted Love. Love On the Rocks Love. Love Will Lead you Back. Love Hurts. All Out of Love. Don't Fear the Reaper...
and so many more songs about love.
Last month one woman demanded to know "Why didn't I get the ham, why did she win the ham! I NEVER win the ham". Then she fell over the mike stand spilling wabasi peas all over the stage. You must sing to win, AND you be conscious and/or senscient. You just might win a canned ham or other mediocre prizes. Take a look at our ever-slowly-but-growing list of over 300 songs! (click here). Join in on the Big Bohemian ending at 12:30.

I've studdied the karaoke insrtuctional videos and I now see the error in our low-tech mysterious method. We need wood paneling, a drop ceiling and more backwards baseball caps. We already have the drunken nervous people. We also need more white-people wrap. I vote that we change the name of our blood sport event to Humans Against Music (HAM).
-
I'm only singing if you have "Groovy kind of love".
-
Subject: Yes, have hve no bananas
Awww GROSS! I have to admit I'm a little ashamed that we DO have it in the style of Wayne "where is he now?" Fontana, but not Phil "Sususuicide" Collins. Rock on, Pen. -
I changed my mind, I'm only singing if you have "love in an elevator".
-

Love in the elevator, I don't think Freddy's serves that drink.
I think you're just a big singing chicken. Singing chicken, Quest que cest?Buk buk buk buk, buk buk buk buk buk. -
Nevermind. I really just want to do the Paul Simon classic, "50 ways to love your lever".
-
i'm pretty stoked about the new garfunkel cd. every time i hear about a p. simon cd i'm like, "so john oates has another solo recording out."
anyway, i got the johnny hallyday paroles to "old time rock n roll" so it is going to be totally fun. adieu m. mackie messer. -
Mon Dieu! Le Bob Seger? So John Oates has a solo album. What happenned to Mrs. John Otes, aka Daryl Hall?
-
-
uhhh... mmmm. uh.
I'm not going to say no. I think we can also suspend our "No lamé" rule for this month. But let me consult with legal councel first. Bill? uh, Bill? -

I mock a little but fondly. I have what is now known as post-prom trauma. I was forced into a group date with a young lady they said had a great laugh... for a seagull, the theme, "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)". Not having a liscence then, I just couldn't use that "I'm grounded" excuse. I felt trapped, scared for my life in my ill-fitting powder blue tux.
Brrrrrrrrrrrr.
But without H+O how would blind people know that it's Couple Skate Only? One can walk through the park and faintly hear One on One. In my most insecure moments I know that Private Eyes Are (in fact) Watching Me.
Rock on H+O. Let your easy-listening light shine. -
ah, powder blue tux and a hall and oates theme. you must be from my era.
my hippie high school didn't have prom (though they had something worse than prom called "social dance", a true nightmare. still, if anyone wore a colored tux it would have been as a parody.)
sigh. one on one. think i have to go through my CDs and find me some sara smile. -

If you remember getting your bell bottoms caught in your bike chain, or if you ever questioned who the hell Leif Garret was, you are 39 in online years.
Well, we do have "Sara Smile" for March, but I'll put it in the Karaoke 2000 laptop this month just in case you feel like jockeying for the ham. -

Holy Houdini! Kate Bush really let herself go. tsk tsk tsk. This Woman's Work Is Never Done.

Yes, we do refer to the singing stage as the killing floor, or mike #2.
A viewer wrote: "Do you have any Billy Joel, in particular, 'Scenes From An Italian Restaurant'."
Yes we do, but we've kept this of the list for some time. We had a tragic fratboy "Piano Man" incident early on. Everyone knows that "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" leads directly into a "Piano Man" medly.
For that spirited young man, I have good news. Long Island's son of the soil will be yours this Wednesday. Look out! -
Hang on, I just googled the lyrics and I realize that's the wrong Billy Joel song. The one I wanted is called "We didn't start the fire" or something like that.
-
"We didn't Start The Fire", the love theme from the Christie Brinkley LifeTime movie "I Hate you Cheryl Tiegs and I Hope You Go to Hell!". Both roles were played by Markie Post.
"We Didn't...", "Stranger", and "Scenes" are actually the same song with three more bridges and two modulations... Oh no, I feel the whole "Piano man" incident coming back. Gotta take my meds. Brrrrrrr. -

A bottle of reds, a bottle of whites... -
Subject: La di di da, la di da da
So I was at Trader Joe's this morning trying to buy Thai Style Chili Peanuts, but the line wasn't moving so I left. And you know what started playing on my way out? "Piano Man". The "La di di da, la di da da" part is possibly what drove poor Britney to shave her head. Long story short, I ran. No nuts tonight.
First Prize: A 48 oz Krakus Canned Ham, pure procine pleasure!
Second Prize: Higüeral Salami 16 oz, the umlaut means flavor
Third Prize: 2 bottles of Gold's Wasabi Sauce, 10 oz of mild burning
So show up and sing the songs of love, you just might get lucky -
Sorry to say that I cannot make it. I have a friend in town from London and it's his last night. I might be back in time for the giant sing along, though.
-
it was good to meet the yarn guy, and bill c.
and my prize-winning salami!
now. i must go hide it.......
Things are okay with me these days
Got a good job, I got a good office
I got a new wife, got a new life
And the family is fine
OH, we lost touch long ago
You lost weight - I did not know
you could ever look so nice after so much time.

Subject: Auf Wieder Sehen, February
As we bid a fond Auf Wieder Sehen to cold, short February, Bill C. and I give a warm Danke Schön to a few folks.
Quijibo, you so rocked the epic pop operetta, "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant"!! You rolled a +10 for Billy Joel proficiency and better armor class. For a moment I felt lost on the LIE. Enjoy the Cuban Salami you mighty Ranger!
To Mz. Marlene for scaring everyone off the stage with her incredible rendition of "White Rabbit". Even though you are vegan, I hope enjoy the ham. Put it in the fridge, it's not tempeh.
Gute nacht, alle meine Freunde and let's let this topic sink into obscurity until next month. Zum wohle!! Wir sind nicht allein. -
ms marlene TOTALLY rocked the casbah =D>
like stevie nicks. on steroids.
i felt bad for the ham tho'
uber fantastic job by Yarn Dude and Bill C. encore gentlemen. encore!!! -
Le bon vieux temps du rock and roll
by Johnny Hallyday
Howdy, Stranger!
