Condition of the Old First Church steps

The Old First Church is among the grossest of places to sit in the summer, largely due to the giant waterbugs that call those steps home. I just passed by, and I can imagine how bad it will be this summer, because the cement that filled the gaps between the steps has been completely eroded. The earth underneath the steps is exposed, and I imagine that's where the waterbugs chill.
