old! see new post - CH bar crawl!
okay folks. we need to do a CH bar crawl. ideally, these are done on a Friday or Saturday - start around happy hour time - 6 or 7, and every hour move on to a new spot.
So, I'd propose starting at a fantastic roti joint for a bit of food (you know, to help the booze not kill us all) and then moving on. but to where? and, more importantly, do we end up at starlite?
so bars I *know* about in CH are:
ripple (I realize it's mostly considered a PH bar but technically it is on the CH side of washington)
saje
starlite
cafe 400
where else?! and, folks, when should we make this happen? I'll make it a global announcement once we figure out a date and schedule. but this is gonna be a bit complicated ...

Whatever help you need, Nad. I am good, giving, and game. I know Sepia's technically PH, but I have a territorial CH vibe for it...
Maybe a "First Saturday"? -
hmmm... this does sound fun.
-
we discussed this last night and think, perhaps, that this event should be both PH and CH friendly. we are thinking the order of bars should/could be:
Soda (their happy hour specials can't be beat)
Sepia (the joint is hott)
Ripple (double le hott)
Cafe 400 (big and schmancy ... and in CH!)
Starlite (zomg - dancing to old skool house??)
does anyone know of any other bars, especially between Ripple and Cafe 400 and Cafe 400 and Starlite? if we do this anytime soon, it may be damn cold... -
I think we should thrown tavern on nostrand in the mix. I vote for a saturday cause otherwise I'll never be in town...

Don't forget to add "Secrets" to your list. It's definitely the nicest looking bar on the list. THe only question: when is it open. Apparently the groovy bar is booked out for private parties a lot. I'll see if I can find out what their schedule looks like for the next few weeks.

cool. I'll definitely call/stop by the locations before we do this to make sure the schedule works. we'll also have a pretty good time-table so folks can join in whenever works.
saturday is probably best. -

Just spoke with the owner of Secrets. The bar is now only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday "until the summer". Sounds a little iffy, but definitely work a visit if they're open.

Wow, sounds like fun!!!!
BTW Alafairnadia, why doesn't PS do this sort of thing? or regular happy hours? I know there was a PS happy hour a couple of months ago, but it seems there's not much of an interest. Or maybe we don't have good bars?
Not that I'd touch the stuff, of course.

There have been a fewPS happy hours, and with the exception of one at Sheep Station a few months ago, they all suffered from major organizational problems. We could definitely give it another go though, especially since the last PS outing went so well.

I'm in for this, just pick the date and the time...
-
cool. well, what works best for people? I'm thinking a saturday evening/night. this coming weekend probably is not good. what works for ppl? or should I set up a poll?
-
Poll!

Secrets.
-
okay, I added a poll to the top of this post. go vote!
-
I can't make any of those dates.
I could do March 2nd... -
So, have we settled on a date? I mentioned it to the guys who hang out on my sofa all the time, and you would have thought that I was proposing a panty raid at the frat house. Now all I hear is "when is that bar thing?" Can we pick a date so I can get them off my back?
-
Now that the weather is getting a wee bit nicer (don't want to jinx anything), we should pick a day....which by the looks of it is March 3rd, or 2nd if we bend our super busy schedules just for Carnivore (lol). What about waiting it out another week or two?
Whatchuthink? -
what kind of place is Cafe 400? i saw it the other day but have never been in it...
where are ripple and starlite? what kind of places are they? -
There is a new bar/grill called VIP (something) on the corner of President and Nostrand. Has anyone been there? Should it be on the pub crawl too?
-
okay all, I'm going to do a new poll to add in fridays.
and sure, we can hit VIP.
