Need a good tailor — Brooklynian

Need a good tailor

edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
I need to get a ton of measurements for a chinese-style bridesmaid dress. Can anyone recommend a good tailor or dressmaker in PH or PS who will do this? I'm sure I'll need alterations when the dress comes in, and I'd like to go to the same place.

Thanks!

  • Visit G.O. Hussey on Washington btw Saint Johns and Lincoln. He's great... honest, quality work, fair pricing, and a super nice guy. I've had bad experiences with the guy on Wash btw Saint Johns and Sterling (Mi Montumo.. close on the name but not sure) as well as the dry cleaning place.

Me too! He did a really bad job on some simple hems and took a small custom order that he gave me the run-around on for weeks before I finally gave up. I felt like he just didn't care about my business. I've wondered about the other place but never been. I've had lots of simple things done by the tailor at Caree (corner Park & Vanderbilt) & have been very happy. Also, they are a great dry cleaner (I've tried several around the neighborhood that are not nearly as good).

Ditto... he messed up my jeans. AND asked for a deposit AND he couldn't find our items when we came to pick them up... we had to return the next day.
  • Thanks for the suggestions! My friend is after me to get this done, so I really appreciate it. :)
