Anyone ever been inside the Old Stone House (in JJ Byrne Park) for a party?

Im looking for a unique and reasonable priced space for a brunch cocktail party for 50 women and it was recommended to me.

Looks cool on the outside but I can't find any photos of the inside so I'd love to hear from people if they thought it was nice and appropriate for an adult party.

    I have attended afew functions in the Old Stone House ..one was a memorial service and the other birthday party celebrating my grandson's first birthday along with all his baby friends who are in the same mommy group. Neither one of these parties involved hot food so I am not sure of the policy about bringing catering services in to this venue. The inside is sparse but clean and I found it charming.

    thanks veets. They do allow catering and I believe they have table and chairs.

    The party is a baby shower so while Im willing to do the work to dress the place up, etc.. there is only so much I can do. Im a little concerned that the interior might look like /smell like a public bathroom.

    Any chance you can describe what the inside looks like? (or have a photo to share?)

    They have programs going on all the time inside the OLd Stone House-the interior is very nice and clean and charming looking-it does not look nor smell like a public bathroom. Why would it?

    Why not go over there on the weekend and go inside to see yourself? it's open on weekends to the public.

    Stef... both these parties were in the room upstairs. You really need to be standing in the space yourself to see what vibe you get but I can tell you that it is clean and no smell..musty or otherwise.

    Ive been trying to reach the coordinator of the site for several days but I haven't been able to...so I guess I was looking for whatever feedback I could get while I waited.


    Guest - I was just trying to get some opinions about the party space. I though the open to the public area was not the same as the private space but maybe it is. The reason why Im concerned about the smell is due to my other experiences with renting spaces inside parks. It was not meant as insult to the Old Stone House.

    Just wanted to come back and post that the location is really great and the rates are incredibly reasonable. As to be expected with such a find, its completely booked on every day that would work for me so Im very bummed (and still looking for a space rental for this party).

    Anyway..for those that might find this post in a later search, book early!
