Moving advice? Safe blocks? — Brooklynian

Moving advice? Safe blocks?

marden
edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
So, many things are pointing to one thing "it's time for me to move." I've been in my apartment for 8 years and well, it's jsut time - unless of course I'm being completley unrealistic.

With that in mind, is it possible to find a one-bedroom in P Heights for $1400?

Also where in Prospect Heights is safe? Where isn't? I'm a wimpy white girl who left the DC area for the relative safety and New York and would like to keep that safe feeling going :)

Any advice you can bestow upon me would be greatly appreciated.

  • You can feel pretty safe in all of PH. Obviously, 100% safe doesn't exist in NYC. I think $1400 for a 1br is ballpark for the area, but I haven't been in the market for a while.
  • well, you've been to my apartment, marden, and I feel pretty safe on washington. have lots of friends that are wimpy white girls who live on classon and franklin and they seem ok.
  • you should def move if you're not feeling safe where you're at now
but no place is going to be guaranteed 100% crime-free

if nothing else perhaps the move will afford you a sense of control -- which is worth something in and of itself
