Dentists?

Just got some drilling done by Dr. Warshaw on Union between 6th & 7th 718/789-5700... not what i'd call a pleasant experience, but he's a good dentist.

I highly recommend Dr. Eric Last (21 Schermerhorn St, Brooklyn NY 11201, 718-625-6629). He does great work and is very honest about pricing and needs. And I hear he's great with kids as well.

For example, I previously went to some clown the insurance company recommended. They said I needed to have lots of fillings dealt with and possibly a root canal (!!!). And I didn't even have any pain. Just a few old cavities that needed simple fillings. If I went with those jokers, I would have paid $500 per tooth. And for seven teeth they claimed needed 'immediate work'. Heck, the ripped me off for some stupid periodontal antibiotic claiming that it was needed to 'prevent' further problems.

In contrast, I went to Dr. Last since I wanted a second opinion. Very, very pleasant staff. Not only did they tell me I only really had three teeth that should be dealt with, the cost they quoted me was $130-$170 per filling. And periodontal issues? They laughed since my gums are healthy and there's no reason to worry!

Even if you have to pay out of pocket, I'd recommend Dr. Last without hesitation.
