Clothing drop-box locations

Corner of 4th Ave and 14th Street. I don't think it is for a charity, though. But if you just want your old clothing to find a new home instead of ending up in a landfill, that's an option.

The Salvation Army on Flatbush and Bergen takes clothing donations -- you can just run in, drop your stuff in the back, and run out again before you get a ticket for parking in the bus stop (not that I would ever do such a thing). There's also a Goodwill on Livingston Street, I think, though I've never been there.

Yeah, its a hike, but I would rather take my stuff to Goodwill or Salvation army. There have been cases like this:

So unless I researched the "charity" that runs the dropbox, I'd just take it somewhere I already know is legitimate.

If you're going to research the charity that runs the drop boxes, I'd also research salvation arm's affiliations. A friend told me never to give them donations. I can't remember what the issue was. Another suggestion is City Works, which recently opened in Brooklyn Heights. But not walkable.
