Car Alarm... — Brooklynian

Car Alarm...

Does anybody know if you can call anyone about an out-of-control car alarm? This minivan's been going off for about TWO HOURS under my window on gates now, and I'm ready to take the law into my own hands. Seriously, I can't even believe this shitty van even HAS an alarm, as if all the CH kids are itchin' to take the Aerostar for a joyride with junior in the back. Jesus.

You can call 311. In a pain in the arse process to lodge the complaint and they have to send the police out but it sure beats having to listen to a stupid alarm going off for two hours.

All they did was ticket the car, though, and the alarm kept blaring, on-and-off, until at least 2 a.m., when I finally nodded off, so who knows how long it actually was malfunctioning. If they just disregard the ticket and it goes off again, it's getting a brick through the window with a nice note written around it. Heh.
  • I would gladly take a 2-hour car alarm than my oversexed, purposely fake and loud hipster neighbors who refuse to close their courtyard window when they do it everyday :(

that's what truly gets me about car alarms, they're always on the shittiest cars.

besides which, if it's going to go off for hours and you don't respond to it, it serves no purpose, does it? if a thief sees no one responding, they rob you car as easily as one without an alarm.
