thanks all for coming out - I'm so glad we had a great turnout!
I had a great time and have declared (loudly, repeatedly, and drunkenly) that my next birthday party will be at secrets. that place RULES. and talk about full service: dancing, vip room, full bar, and full service kitchen til the joint closes (the chef told us about this amazing dish folks were scarfing down: blackened shrimp with fried tomatoes)! it was still hopping at 1:30ish when we left and headed back to ripple to wander into the middle of liftandcut's birthday party!
kudos to carnivore for reminding me of how delicious malibu and pineapple is. -

it was a really large group - adding up everyone about 20 folks, and that doesn't count the fact that we ran into brookfetish and kosherdave at sepia and liftandcut at ripple.
there were a lot of people I'd met before, some people who I rarely see and am always happy to see (medusa! quig!), and several new faces, which was fantastic!
I'd definitely do it again, though someone else may need to handle the organizational aspects.
I think everyone had fun - I certainly did!
the best place we hit ... I think every place was great, honestly. the drinks and food at soda were great. sepia was lovely - I always enjoy that spot. ripple (the first time) was emptyish so we took over the back table and got to know each other as a large group. the music was great. brooklyn exposure was a little odd at first - restaurant lighting, but most people sitting around and drinking. chatted with some women who were dining and they said their food was great (it looked and smelled great) and the jazzy/funk band was also really good (despite my deep seated hatred of the saxophone). secrets was probably the most surprising place, at least to me. it's huge, gorgeous, and really fun.
so, I'll definitely go back to all of these spots. can't wait to visit others, too! -

oh wow! I was sacked out at 2:30, I think. -

Subject: Secrets
I'm soo sorry I missed the Pub Crawl. Just found out from one of the posters (Greg) that Secrets was great! And I was just a few blocks away finishing up our House & Garden Tour Committee meeting. Oh well... next time! -

Hungover today. Don't remember much after 2a.m. Good times!
Never saw the 2 dudes humping-cant believe I missed that. That might've been when I was in the bathroom making out with the bartender.... -

Aha! Looks like we sucked in another one.
I was the short fat chick in the "Where's My Bitches At?" t-shirt -- glad you had a good time! -
Good to see some of you at Sepia. We had every intention of going to Ripple after that, but we met some people there and lost track of time while conversing.

Hey waz up, I thought you and bitches were supposed to be passed out in Jersey by now?
It's was great meeting you guys. Next time, maybe in Park Slope??
(Mark says Hi!) -
Sorry we missed it. Did you make it over to Crown Heights at all?
-
yes. we were at ripple, brooklyn exposure, and secrets.
-
I had the flu and missed this, thus I am lame (and, alas, still sick)

Beast, down the street from Soda on Bergen and Vanderbilt, has great bartenders and drink prices for when you plan something next time. It's probably my favorite bar in PH.

yeah, it's not a bad bar, but unfortunately it's also a full service restaurant. and the bar crawl started at 7 -- not an ideal time to take over the bar at a restaurant. there were at least 10-12 folks at soda when we left to head to sepia -- that would have been a disaster at beast. -
I agree. I think Beast is better for a smaller group. I like the place, but we were a little too rowdy to be near people who were trying to eat.
Howdy, Stranger!
