Abondoned building on Warren Street, between Union and Court — Brooklynian

Abondoned building on Warren Street, between Union and Court

Has anyone seen this?

There is a large 2-story stone building that sits on the mews between Warren and Pacific, right in someone's back yard. I'm not sure what property this building, which looks abandoned, is attached to, but would love any info on it.

Thanks,
Munci

  • Um...where? "Warren Street, between Union and Court" doesn't exist, and I'm not aware of any "mews between Warren and Pacific."

    Specifcially...

Warren and Pacific are 4 blocks away from each other.

Union and Court don't run parallel...they intersect another 6 blocks further south of Warren.

So, where again? Happy to help, if you can pinpoint the location.
  • heh. i luvz me teh spellig.
  • sorry... Warren St between SMITH and Court.

Behind a particular home on Warren St, I think it's 286 or 288, there is an abandoned building. Wondering its story...

    gracias
  • Ah, shoot..I keep forgetting to swing by there.

Once I do remember, perhaps I can snap a pic, dig around a bit and float it for larger discussion.

I will post as soon as I have been able to get over there for a lookie-loo (and some mobile cam snap-fu).
  • OT: hey jeffrey, what the heck am i watching in your avatar? my laptop has a small screen so it's really teeny, but your avatar looks so cool i can't stop watching it! would you shed some light? thanks!
  • Heh...happy to oblige.

It's a mashup of a scene from Minority Report with some creative humor:

Two little Mario Kart buggies zipping along.

    Here's the original, larger image:

It was a real b*tch to optimize it (by reducing color palette, resizing it, compressing it, dithering it, etc) to get its size all the way down from the original's 1.7MB huge size wayyyyy down to under the meager 29KB size mandated here (without dropping out any frames).

Anyhow, LMAO every time I see it, so just spreading the fun.

    Glad you like it.
  • awesome! it's very funny!
