  • The best ever? What?

I'm with neenee here. I won't even step foot in there. Scary.
  • Well, I ordered from there this afternoon to check it out. The fish was fresh, the portions were fairly generous, it got here pretty fast, and it wasn't terribly expensive. Not the best sushi ever, but not bad. It's a decent delivery option, at least for plain ol' sushi, if this was indicative.

    let me be clear:

    TARO is the best ever.

    NOT sushi tatsu. yuck.

sorry sweet tea. i agree wholeheartedly with ya about Taro.
  • I ordered one of the cooked sushi combos from sushi tatsu II when I ordered from them the other day and it was fine. I'm not sure I'd eat the stuff raw unless I were sitting at the sushi bar at Taro, but I'm kinda easily squicked.
  • This is crap sushi. It didn't make us sick, but I can't say it was a particularly enjoyable experience.

And what was in that spicy tuna roll? It tasted like chinese dumplings or something. Not in a good way.

There are no other sushi delivery options in my area, nevertheless I will not be ordering from Sushi Tatsu II again. eew.
  • I have felt your pain at the first one, but not the sequel and it sucked sooooo bad.
  • Sushi is important, I'm glad we find something we can all agree on. A few nights ago I was barely sated at Blue Ribbon for massive amounts of money. What are the best five "runnerup" Sushi Restaurants in the Brooklyn Diaspora?
  • 1st: Gen
    2nd: Sushi D
    3rd: Blue Ribbon
    4th: Osaka
    5th: Taro

Yeah I ordered a couple days ago and it was garbage. Glorified chinese food.
  • I sorta liked the specialty roll I ordered. But yeah, otherwise it was not very good sushi.

There's a place I've been to in Park Slope that I really liked, but I can't remember the name of it. It was on 5th Ave around 4th St.
  • Considering the varying opinions expressed above, I had to go and make my own judgement. The wife and I met at Sushi Tatsu II last night. at 8 PM (We don't know from the one on Flatbush.) There were two other couples sitting down in the place. Perhaps because they weren't busy, we found the service attentive, if not fawning. Our waitress said she was from Japan, as were the two sushimen. We shared a sushi deluxe and a "Franklin" roll. We decided the quality was good, and a good value. No complaints whatsoever. We had a pleasant walk home along Dean Street and felt grateful such a place is a ten minute walk from our house.
