NYC Transit says the subway that derailed was a conductorless train, but insists that had nothing to do with the accident.

And if the train had a conductor that poor guy would have gotten a clean slate and not have to be tested for drugs or alcohol? Good lord is the MTA a bunch of boners or what!

Franklin Ave Shuttle Derailment Disrupts Service In Brooklyn

A train derailment interrupts the evening rush in Brooklyn.

New York City Transit says a northbound Franklin Avenue Shuttle train derailed about 3:15 p.m. outside of the Botanic Garden station.

As a result of the derailment, the shuttle has been suspended between Franklin Avenue and Prospect Park.

“Right now we’re out. We’re trying to get some limited service back for the rush,” said NYC Transit’s Charles Seaton. “[In the meantime] we have two buses that parallel that service, the B-43 and the B-48.”

As many as 60 people were on board at the time of the derailment, but officials say no one was injured.

There is still no word on what caused the train to come off the tracks.

    Oh, man, I went to take the S last night and stood there for at least five minutes waiting for the train while a group of about fifteen police officers stood around talking to each other and not bothering to mention that the train wasn't running. Thanks, guys. Thank god for the tiny blonde girl cop who finally came through just as a B arrived and yelled "NO SHUTTLE! NO SHUTTLE!"

    Then I called my husband and left a message for him to get off at 7th, but he didn't get it in time either.

    I hate the MTA. This happened at 3:15? They couldn't have made an announcement or put up a sign or something in the intervening three hours?
