Great War Memorial (WWI) in Prspect Park
In1921 the City placed a nice monument in the Park containg the names of the fallen soldiers on bronze plaques. My maternal Uncle Patrick Farrell was marked therein. He was killed in action three weeks before the war ended.
Some years ago some scuzzy miscreants damaged and stole some of the plaques. The fallen deserve better.
Did the city ever replace the missing plaques?
Thank you,
James J. Wilson, former sloper now in AZ, the weather is good but I miss Brooklyn.

Mr. Wilson, as far as I know, the two defaced tablets are still missing. Sorry.

there was a mention of the memorial in The Daily Plant Newsletter in 2005. This is a link to the whole article:

However, so you don't have to page through the whole thing, this is the excerpt re: the memorialPark & Recreation theft has decreased dramatically in recent times. Preventative measures include removing items that show evidence of tampering until they can be more permanently attached or grounded. Several plaques from the World War I memorial in Prospect Park have been removed and put into storage for that very reason. “We are awaiting the funds to re-install them more permanently,†said [Jonathan Kuhn, Parks & Recreation’s Director of Arts & Antiquities] “We would also love to refabricate lost monuments from photographs, as was done with the Pleasant Plains Monument in Staten Island, but unfortunately this is costly and work intensive.â€

They should replace this before they build the 9/11 memorial.
