Police at PS library

edited November -1 in Park Slope
Was walking back to my apt from the Y on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and three police cars pulled up in front of the library at 6th Ave and 9th St - I had to get back to my kids, but was wondering what sort of incident had happened there? Does anybody know?

  • Oh My God!
    Police surround the library!
Someone got an overdue notice and won't pay!
    The sky is falling!
    Police brutality!
    Call Al Sharpton!
  • There is a Stephen King story about the library police that's pretty dramatic, but I think this whole business was probably something a little more serious than an overdue book.

Although my 8-year-old posited that the police REALLY REALLY REALLY needed a book. When I informed her that I didn't think that warranted sirens and three cars and the whole hoo-ha, she looked at me skeptically. Apparently I have never REALLY REALLY REALLY needed a library book.
  • There were a couple of ambulances there also, so perhaps somebody got sick?
  • They found out who checked out "Tropic of Cancer" and left it under a gym locker 20 years ago.
