Tonights DOT Meeting

Just confirming - James Brenan's office confirmed the meeting is at
6:30PM. Enter Methodist on 6th Street.

I'm happy I went. I arrived around 6PM and was still lucky to have gotten seat in the auditorium. There were so many people that were turned away at the door but they stayed outside in the lobby- they could hear the speakers on the loudspeaker system. Anyway, the resounding
message from the speakers and audience was that the idea for 6th & 7th avenues should be rejected. A motion was made by CB6 to do just that and it carried. Many local elected representatives spoke out against the plan that was presented by the DOT. I'm sure there will be info in the local papers.

4th avenue as well. Members from the audience also suggested that
the DOT consider making 8th Ave and PPW two ways or at least address the problem of speeding on 8th Avenue.
