shoveling snow sucks

I am so glad I don't have to do that shit.
There's a very funny story (which I can't/won't share on a public board) where somebody who was very shitty to me now has to shovel my snow for free.
Karma is a bitch! -
Geez it was heavy shovelling...
...or I guess, my honed teenage technique is rusty. -
actually, I don't mind walking through snow - that slippery slush stuff is way worse. what I really hate, though, is walking in snow in midtown. between the variable sidewalks - all are slippery in different conditions - and the sidewalk plows and salt spreaders, it is freakin' dangerous around there. the pavement stones in front of the hilton at 53rd and 6th ave - I've seen so many people wipe out there. ugh.

midtown polished granite sidewalks in the snow = ack!
I was happy to get home to concrete and bluestone, and my neighbor's new ice chopper hoe.
($25, hardware store. you need one, armchair!)
We worked for an HOUR to get a path cleared in front of our adjoining places, and my front steps are still pretty iced over...
I don't wanna do it again this morning! But.I.will. -
As someone who walks past one of your buildings fairly often, Armchair, thank you for for your efforts. There are SO many landlords around here who don't. There are only three or four buildings on my block where anyone's bothered to try to clear the snow, and it's a real pain in the ass to try to get around.

It's outrageous that we PS renters, on our way for our morning lattes, have to struggle through unshoveled sidewalks, left in precarious condition by unthinking, lazy homeowners. There oughta be a law!

ho ho ho
your point being ... renters have no right to complain that home/building owners are too lazy to follow the law? perhaps you should give us your address, so we can call 311 on you. enjoy your ticket. -
au contraire - my historically lazy-assed building owner, to the surprise of everyone in the building, sent hordes of little shovelers out in the middle of the night to clear a path for his loyal tenants. Will there be no end to the surprises in store for us?

There is a law.

where are those kids that go around shoveling for 10 or 20 bucks like in my youth!
i would of love to pay them to clear the snow.
/mutters damn lazy kids -
<sarcasm class="off_the_cuff">
Yeah, serves those geriatrics, with their hips of spun glass.
If they fall on a unshoveled sidewalk, it's their own damn fault. It's G_ds way of keepin' them off of the streets..

today was the first time i ever really had to get somewhere and had to dig my car out. (usually i just don't drive until the snow melts)
mental note: park on the side of the street opposite where the snow plows chuck all the snow. i had to go through a 1-2 ft mound of snow. the other side of the street had maybe 6 inches. -

For some ridiculous reason it took me AGES to both figure this out and remember it.

Flexi, who is happy to be parked on the "good side" of the street and will wait until the snow melts or ASS parking kicks in before moving her car. -
yes, this is where i made my near fatal mistake
