  • they rigged a camera atop the roof of my building for the filming! they gave us window protection for the blast, and for the ground floor businesses, they even replaced their windows with shatter glass for the effects. i had to work the day of the actual explosion filming, but another girl from my building said it was pretty cool. i just got to see the cleanup. i should scan my pictures of it and post them.

one thing though, they didn't replace the "black lady theater" awning. so now there's a bit of a gap on the theater building. however, the cool murals posters are still there. (i don't think they left the mural posters up for the filming, perhaps they were too incediary for mainstream american audiences?) it looked so much better with the awning, though... as the dude says, "it really tied the [block] together."

i haven't seen the movie yet though. is it any good? i generally detest nicole kidman.
  • This is cool! Email me a picture or two and I'll do a post about it on the front page.
  • Subject: interpreter

t-fal, when was the movie filmed? it was quite interesting. it is classified as a political thriller.

i thought it was gripping, but ao scott of the nytimes said it was as apolitical as it was unthrilling...oh well..
  • Anyone else seen this? It's got a good cast, but is it really worth seeing for anything other than a brief glimpse of a scene in our neighborhood?
  • i just sent the photos to the forum. the filming took place last summer, but i can't remember the exact dates... i do remember they installed plexiglass window coverings to protect from the blast, and so we couldn't open our windows for a few very hot and stuffy days.
