How about a good wing place?

There have been quite a few discussions about wings and food in general- I'm partial to the wings at 200 5th on 5th ave, but some people say that there's a place a couple blocks further that's even better! I would do a search and read through the old threads... Happy hunting!

Wing Wagon on Flatbush/Park (right by the 7th Ave B/Q stop) is great in my book.

Bonnie's!
Bonnie's is the slope diner of legendary wing fame, as well as spectacular burgers, catfish burgers, and the crack fries of doom! The cook will make them diabolically hot, if that's your thing.
That's Fifth Ave on the same block and side of the street as Blue Ribbon - perhaps at 1st St? -
Wing Wagon's wings are too small. Bonnie's has the real deal.

Personally, the wing size at Wing Wagon isn't the main problem for me. I think the main flaws are the incredibly excessive saltiness and the undercrispness. They've got to fry those things longer before they sauce them. I usually find that if the wings are too big, most places have even more trouble with the crispiness issue, although I haven't tried Bonnie's yet. -
I have an incredibly excessive love of salt

Wing Wagon is just a fast food take out place. For the real deal go to Bonnie's on Fifth Avenue. The guys who own it are from buffalo and they know what they are doing. The fries and burgers (especially the veggie burgers) are also great there. Plus interesting beers!

Wait, buffalo wings are actually from Buffalo? Get out. -
Two Boots on second st. above 7th has awsome buffalo wings. I think they are called something else, though.

As legend would have it, they are indeed from Buffalo:

Subject: wing wagon v. bonnies
I just tried Wing Wagon for the first time last night. Was very impressed. Bonnie's is a nicer place to hang out, for sure, but the wings at Wing Wagon are super tasty, nice and vinegary. I like that they are hot but not so searingly hot that your mouth is numb, which I found at Bonnie's. Also, the carrot cake was very good. -
Try these<oops doesn't deliver to park slope>

Park Slope Ale House!
-
Ale House does have mighty fine wings, and a delicious buffalo calamari. But, I make the best wings. Both buffalo and peanut (sounds weird, but you cannot imagine what peanut sauce, siracha and butter do for the humble wing), cooked in the leftover turkey oil in the backyard. Mmm.

Press 195. They usually don't travel well (although a lot of take out doesn't), but I prefer their wings to Wing Wagon and Bonnie's.

I read the topic of this thread three times before I realized it didn't say "how about a good wig place?"
carry on. -
*snort* that cracked me up Carmen
especially given your new job LOL -
"Scruffy Duffys" would be an odd name for a wig shop.
Actually, it's kinda hard to imagine what kind of shop would be enhanced by such a name. -
Scruffy Duffy's was a great bar... Hung out there years ago when Pat had his Rottweiler in the basement and Angel used to watch the door. Went looking for it last year and it was gone! What a shame!
