Off the top of the head, you can probably take the A train at fulton st or the 5 at eastern pkwy. You should go out there and take a look around the neighborhood. One good thing is that there is a precinct nearby, but I probably wouldn't want to live there if I had a choice.

hmm... isn't that A train Fulton/Utica stop where Stuyvesant Heights is? That's supposed to be a pretty decent area right? I went out perusing for antiques there a few years ago though, and while the antique shops were REALLY REALLY great, and the vintage clothing could not be beat (esp. for mod dresses!) it was rather dodgy and abandoned feeling in some parts closer to Utica/Malc X and Fulton. I couldn't wait to get back to dear old Nostrand Ave. It may have changed some in those 2 years though, especially now that Stuy Heights is so sought after and Crown Heights is up and coming.
I think that area would be better than the other area he listed in part 2 though.
