Attention Scooterists!

I know there are one or two of you on here...

Anyway, the scoot scene seems kind of dead around here lately, and I was hoping to get some riding in before winter comes full-force.

Anyone wanna join me, or clue me in to something similar thats going on around PH/PS?

if the boy ever gets ours back up in running order again, we might be up for it. poor old spike, so neglected, it breaks my heart to walk by her everyday. i think however, there's a better chance that we will end up keeing it down at my parents condo in florida. probably get more use out of it there.

its actually just a matter of time for us really. he was away in dc all summer at a trial. i think we'll be taking it in somewhere soon though to get it cleaned up and fixed. its just got a ton of construction dust all over it, and its been sitting without being ridden for quite a while. i probably just need to learn to ride the damn thing myself! i think he got freaked out one too many times in scary traffic.

what sort of scoot is it? my wife is learning to ride our '63 vespa gl right now, and its a 4-speed manual. if yours is similar, and you wanna learn to ride it, feel free to join us... we've been going down to the met food parking lot on 5th, which is deserted (but well lit!) in the evening... and acre of traffic-free space to learn in. ive been teaching her, and shes picked it up in about 2 minutes, heh (it helps if youve driven manual-shift cars before).

i must wholeheartedly reccommend brooklynbretta for repairs/tuneups... out scoot is 42 years old and runs like it just came off hte factory line 8)

but yeah! im not trying to mind your business, but it seems to be a shame to have one and not go riding... its so much fun, and so liberating. just tryiong to get some scene popping here again!

ours is a '66 125 super, i'm pretty sure its a 4 speed. i can almost drive manual transmissions on a car...i have issues though with first gear. however, i have driven a manual transmisssion tractor completely without incident. i'll totally nag him into submission about bringing it somewhere to get it fixed though, and thanks for the shop reccomendation!

i know, it is a shame to have it and not ride it, especially because he worked his butt off years ago to get it. i'll just have to take it over

yup, thats a 4 speed! sweet ride! the 125 has an almost identical body-style to ours. gotta love those 60s scoots.

if you can drive a tractor, you should have no problemo mastering hte scoot...

btw, bklynbretta is on the south side of sackett, between 3rd and 4th. i dont work there and have no reason to plug them besides hot damn, their service is stellar.
