  • I couldn't reach anyone at the school now but I will check when I drop Brandon off in the AM.
  • Please have a final decision by Saturday morning. I don't want to bake a bunch of banana bread only to find out I'll be eating it for breaky for the next two weeks. Thanks!
  • I spoke to the school this morning and unfortunately we will not be able to use the inside - but the custodian said he would leave us some tarps and showed me how to make an awning with them. I have been checking the weather and it seems like we will have a partly cloudy day - I think we should go for it but I will do what the majority wants.
  • I say go for it! Sunday: A few clouds. Highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s.
  • I also say let's go for it. DH is hardcore.
  • Posted! Let me know if edits are needed.

Meanwhile, does anyone have plans to put up posters around the neighborhood? Unfortunately, a friend with whom I was planning to spend Saturday evening is now arriving considerably earlier in the day than I anticipated, so I think just the baking is going to kill all my free time tomorrow... :?
  • I saw one of the poster/flyers last night at Grand Army Plaza. Nice job, whoever designed that!
  • Isa designed the flyers - I have a whole bunch if anyone wants some to hand out to their neighbors or put up on their block - let me know and I will arrange to get them to you.
  • I totally challenge anyone here to a moon pie eating contest.

I only compete in savory item competitive eating, not sweet. My salty stomach is way bigger than my sweet stomach! :)
  • will there be savory items at the bake sale? there's a bakery in williamsburg that carries goat cheese and chive muffins. um. glomp. I'll eat 10, given time and motiviation. you'll have to roll me home, but still.

    Erm, yeah.

I'm trying to read that in an innocent way.

Keep it up and there'll be no short shorts for you!

Everyone can see your moon pie when you wear short shorts!
  • Ok if anyone needs a lift to the schoolyard with their items, please PM me and I will arrange to pick you up.

  • Hey all you fabulous baking godesses. You're doing a great job with this sale thing. Like Carnivore, I am also working overnight but only on Saturday. So I will try to make some cupcakes (not at all from scratch) and bring them, bleary-eyed, as I try to stay up on Sunday to get back onto a day schedule.
  • Do we have the tables worked out?
  • I'm bringing one, but it's kind of smallish.

I forgot to get little circular stickers to use as price tags yesterday, which I'd meant to do, but I figure one of us can make a Duane Reade/wherever run between 11 and 12.
  • Its a beautiful day for it!
  • As of 3PM bake sale now is in front of Soda! If you haven't yet come and bought some of the goodies there is still lots of good stuff left!
  • Damn! Wish you guys had left some signs behind at the school or something -- I went over there, apparently right after you'd all left, and I figured I'd missed it so I walked all the way home to Boerum Hill.

Hope it was a success nonetheless.
  • Hmmm. We did leave signs though, or at least a chalking. Which side of the school were you on? (I'm back, BTW, but there are still people out there.)

I missed that too :( How'd it go?
  • I don't have the final count because Isa and Stacey were the ones who stayed to the end, but we took in over $500. We'll have to do a post later thanking everyone, but people were really great about bringing stuff and helping out. I'd try to name names, but I'm sure I'd leave someone out.

Hopefully people can come to Soda this Wednesday so we can celebrate and sort out everyone's belongings. (I have Oiseau's knife and Isa has his box for $$$ as well as one of Cupcake's baking pans, I think.)

Daaang! I didn't even look at the sidewalk! I peeked around on the St. Marks side of the school, didn't see anything going ont, so then I walked past along the Underhill side. Shoulda looked down! Sounds like you guys did great, though!
